About Us
Established in 2006 as a community foundation, the Beautiful Foundation USA (“BFUSA”) strives to give a helping hand to those who are in need by spreading the Culture and Spirit of NANUM (“Giving and Sharing”) in our communities. We firmly believe that it is first and foremost OUR job to look after one another in our communities, and by doing so, we can help create more unified and stronger communities throughout. The Foundation seeks to serve and empower community organizations that work to respond to the many needs of our communities through professional fund management, effective training for capacity-building, and strategic support for community activities. In addition, the Beautiful Foundation USA seeks to pass on the invaluable cultural heritage to future generations through activities that embody the spirit of Giving and Sharing.
The Foundation is committed to continuing the heritage and legacy of the Beautiful Foundation Korea, which has created a movement of grassroots giving (1% donation movement) that has swept throughout the country. Individuals of all backgrounds have been encouraged to steward their community in a manner that seeks to alleviate poverty and injustice. Under the motto “Beyond Charity Toward Change”, and the belief that those who give are those who receive, we encourage going beyond a one-time act of charity driven by momentary sympathy and seek to engender communities that engage in the practice of continuous giving and sharing that can bring about real change in our lives.
The Beautiful Foundation USA is based in Fort Lee NJ and is a IRC 501(c)(3) non-profit, non-political, and non-religious charitable organization. All donations from the government, individuals, and companies qualify to receive tax benefits to the fullest extent under applicable law.
Responding to the Community Needs
The Beautiful Foundation USA is committed to strengthening community service organizations that are meeting the most critical needs “in and beyond” the Korean and Asian American communities. Our priority is to fund programs that focus on the following underserved groups: the elderly, youth, women, immigrants, and individuals with disabilities and their families. We believe that strong and effective community organizations are essential for the positive development and collective empowerment of the communities as a whole.
Moreover, the BFUSA understands the current realities facing the community non-profit service organizations and the need for ongoing capacity-building support to build long-term sustainability. Capacity-building support provides organizations with access to the tools necessary to strengthen their infrastructure for the future. Through continuous and constructive engagement with community based non-profit organizations and individuals in our communities, we have been able to assess and identify the true needs of our communities and distribute our funds in a manner that is most effective to meet such needs, thereby ensuring every cent of your precious donation be used as a tool to bring about real changes in people’s lives.
